Sergei Vsevolodovich Stakhorsky (born November 10, 1955 , Moscow , USSR ) is a Soviet and Russian theater critic and cultural historian . Doctor of Arts, Professor. The author of scientific monographs and articles on the history and theory of Russian theater (in the magazines Theater , Modern Drama , Balagan (Germany)), as well as works on the history of Russian culture, Russian symbolism [1] ; compiled and scientific editor of several encyclopedias.

Biography
In 1978 he graduated from the Theater History Department of GITIS (course of N. I. Elyash ).
In 1982 - 1997 he taught at GITIS (since 1991 - RATI), since 1999 - professor at the Russian State Humanitarian University . Professor and head of the Department of Theory and History of Culture of the Humanitarian Institute of Television and Radio Broadcasting named after M. A. Litovchin.
In 1987 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of art criticism on the topic "Problems of the style of modern opera directing: based on the work of B. A. Pokrovsky" [2]
In 1993, at the Russian Institute of Art Studies, he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Arts on the topic “Russian Theater Utopia of the Beginning of the 20th Century” (specialty 17.00.01 - Theater Arts). Official opponents are M. I. Turovskaya , Doctor of Art Criticism, N. A. Yastrebova, Doctor of Art Criticism, and V. V. Frolov, Doctor of Art Criticism. The leading organization is the Studio School / University / named after V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko [3] .
Since 2012 - Member of the Dissertation Council of the State Institute of Art Studies [4] .
