Biography

Born on May 20, 1924 in the village of Kuibyshev, Dilijan region of Armenia . Armenian. Member of the CPSU / CPSU since 1952. Specialized secondary education.

In the Red Army since April 1942. At the front in World War II from June 1942. Participated in battles in the North Caucasus, liberated Crimea, Belarus, the Baltic states, Poland . The war ended in Germany . For fights near the city of Ordzhonikidze in November 1942 he was awarded the Order of the Red Star .

The calculation number of the anti-tank rifle of the company of anti-tank rifles of the 390th Infantry Regiment, the Red Army soldier Stepanyan, on September 18, 1943, in the battles for the settlement of Verkhne-Bakansky, crushed the enemy machine gun, which prevented the advance of our infantry, with a well-aimed fire made the advancing tank turn back.

In subsequent battles, he destroyed two enemy officers.

By order of the 18th Army of June 9, 1944, Red Army Stepanyan was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

On February 10, 1945, in battles 2 kilometers southeast of the city of Frankfurt an Oder, a reconnaissance platoon of a foot reconnaissance platoon of the same regiment and division, Red Army soldier Stepanyan removed the wounded regiment commander from the battlefield and fired, covering it with his body. Having made his way to the rear of the enemy along with other fighters, Stepanyan entered the headquarters of the enemy battalion, captured the “tongue” with valuable documents, and destroyed over ten opponents. In one of the battles on the approaches to Berlin, two tanks were knocked out of an anti-tank rifle.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 31, 1945 for courage, courage and heroism,, Red Army soldier Stepanyan Israel Galustovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.

In 1947, foreman Stepanyan was demobilized. He lived in the city of Yerevan. He worked as the chief of staff of the civil defense of the city hospital. He died on May 12, 2000.

He was awarded the orders of Glory of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree, World War 1 degree, two orders of the Red Star , medals.
