Biography
Born on April 17, 1917 in the village of Vodyanoye, Kamensko-Dneprovsky District, Zaporizhia Region . Ukrainian. He worked on a collective farm.
In the Red Army since 1944. At the front since March of that year. He fought in the infantry, the rifleman as part of the 83rd Guards Rifle Regiment, the 27th Guards Rifle Division.
On September 15, 1944, in the battle on the outskirts of the village of Piaseczno of Guards, Private Bilyk with a group of fighters ensured the delivery of ammunition and weapons, showed endurance and courage. On his battle account up to 10 opponents.
By order of September 25, 1944, the private guard Ivan Ignatievich Bilyk was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On January 15, 1945, in a battle near the village of Yasenets of the Guard, Private Bilyk burst into the enemy’s trench, with grenades and fire using his personal weapons he crushed the enemy firing point and destroyed 4 fascists. In street battles for the city of Poznan disabled up to 10 enemy soldiers and officers, suppressed the fire of the bunker.
By order of March 17, 1945, Private Ivan Ignatievich Bilyk was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
In the battles for the city of Berlin in April 1945, the submachine gunner Bilyk, fighting off the enemy’s counterattack, hit about 15 soldiers and officers, burned an armored personnel carrier, and crushed an anti-tank gun.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 31, 1945, for the exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with German-enemy invaders of the guard, Private Bilyk Ivan Ignatievich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
In 1946, the foreman Bilyk was demobilized. He returned to his homeland. He worked as a shepherd at the state farm. He died on August 27, 1969.
He was awarded the Order of Glory of 3 degrees, medals.
