Biography
Born in 1923 in the village of Nizhnyaya Kayancha (now the Altai District of the Altai Territory ). Secondary education. He worked in the gold mines in the Lower Kayancha.
In March 1942 he was drafted into the Red Army by the Altai District Military Commissariat. From the same time on the front. He fought on the Leningrad, 2nd Byelorussian fronts as a gunner, commander of the guns of the 66th separate anti-tank battalion of the 90th rifle division. Member of the CPSU since 1944.
On June 14, 1944, at the breakthrough of enemy defenses 5 km north-west of the village of Ushkovo of the Leningrad Region, gunner junior sergeant Pyankov smashed a bunker, a machine gun point, and destroyed up to 10 infantrymen with direct fire.
By order of June 18, 1944, Junior Sergeant Vasily Petankovich Pyankov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On September 17, 1944, in the area of the settlement of Ainaži, Sergeant Pyankov put down three machine gun points with artillery fire, destroyed a mortar battery, and hit more than 10 opponents.
By order of September 29, 1944, Sergeant Vasily Petrovich Pyankov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
From January 14 to February 10, 1945, in the battles in the area of the town of Cekhanow, in the village of Rakovitz, the gun commander Sergeant Pyankov, together with the calculation, destroyed more than 30 opponents, captured 2 guns, put out of action and burned several vehicles with ammunition, a tractor with artillery guns, put down up to 10 machine gun points. He was presented to the award of the Order of Glory .
The last award artilleryman did not have time to get. Sergeant Pyankov died in battle near the city of Dirschau. Buried at the scene of the battle.
