Alexey and Hyungi met at the age of twelve when they studied together at the English School of Yehudi Menuhin . Since then, the musicians have remained strong friends and write their shows together. Inspired by the work of Victor Borge and Dudley Moore , they began to create their own show, “A Little Nightmare Music” (“A Little Nightmare Music”), which was based on Mozart's Little Night Music (“A Little Night Music”). The show was released in 2004, and since then the duo managed to perform with the most famous symphony orchestras at some of the most prestigious festivals and stages.
Show
Many luminaries of classical music, including Emanuel Ax , Gidon Kremer , Misha Maysky , Victoria Mullova , Rakhlin Julian and Yanin Yansen participated in their musical sketches. Igudesman and Chu also performed at the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Bernard Haitink , one of the greatest conductors in classical music. The birthday boy responded so much about their performance: “I almost died laughing. “I would like to invite them to the 85th birthday, but I'm afraid it may seem reckless ... Great musicians, a lot of fun.”
Their performances are well appreciated outside the realm of classics. For example, in 2008, they traveled around Europe with pop legends such as Robin Gibb (from Bee Gees ), Midge Juhr (from Ultravox ), one of the founders of Band Aid, Live Aid and Tears for Fears , as well as Kim Wilde and Joe Kerr. Igudesman and Chu also collaborated with actor Roger Moore at several events for the UN Children's Fund. UNICEF

YouTube show videos have received over 18 million views. An hour-long version of the early performance at the Vienna Philharmonic is available on the duo's homepage.
And Now Mozart
Following the worldwide success of A Little Nightmare Music , Igudesman and Chu produced a new show called And Now Mozart , which was also a hit among critics. The premiere took place at the Vienna Konzerthaus in September 2012. In addition, visitors to the annual international festival in Bergen, held in June 2013, were also able to see the new duo program. [2]
BIG Nightmare Music
Igudesman and Chu also performed with orchestras around the world as part of the BIG Nightmare Music (MUCH Nightmare Music) show. During the last performances he was accompanied by the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta [3] and the Regional Orchestra of Cannes, Provence, the Alps and the Cote d'Azur. Projects

Alexei Igoudesman also directed, screenwriter and composer of the 2012 pseudo-documentary film Noseland: The Movie . [6]
Being Gidon Kremer
In 2008, the premiere of the new show by Igudesman and Chu, called "Being Gidon Kremer" ("Being Gidon Kremer", a reference to the 1999 film "Being John Malkovich" ). The duet went on tour with the new show together with the famous Latvian violinist Gidon Kremer and the Kremerat Baltic Chamber Orchestra . As part of the tour, they attended music festivals in Schleswig-Holstein, Rheingau , as well as in Asia , Europe and Russia . [7]
The Music Critic
In 2010, at the festival “ Julian Rakhlin and His Friends”, held in the princely palace in Dubrovnik , Igudesman and Chu presented the show “The Music Critic” (“Music critic”) . Igudesman created a sardonic mixture of the most vicious critical reviews of recent centuries, many of which concern the greatest works of chamber music. John Malkovich played the role of an antagonist - a music critic who finds the music of Beethoven , Chopin , Ravel and the like desperately boring, while Julian Rakhlin , Chu Hyungi , Alexei Igudesman and other great musicians prove the opposite.
