Oleg Borisovich Karjakin (b. November 5, 1954 ) - Soviet and Russian urologist . Doctor of Medical Sciences (1996), Professor (2006). Head of the Department of Radiation and Surgical Treatment of Urological Diseases with the prostate cancer brachytherapy group of the Medical Radiological Research Center of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (since 1989).

Biography
Oleg Karjakin was born on November 5, 1954 [1] .
In 1977 he graduated from the Chernivtsi State Medical Institute , specializing in Medical Doctor. In 1983, he graduated from the clinical residency at the Scientific Research Institute of Medical Radiology of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences (currently the Medical Radiological Research Center of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation ), where in 1986 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of medical sciences on the topic “Comprehensive ( radiation, endovascular and surgical treatment of locally advanced forms of bladder cancer ”, specialty 14.00.19 - medical radiology and radiology [2] .
He worked as a research fellow at the Institute of Medical Radiology. Since 1989 - head of the department of radiation and surgical treatment of urological diseases with a group of prostate cancer brachytherapy [2] .
In 1996, he defended a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences at the Medical Radiological Scientific Center on the topic “Combined treatment of locally advanced and widespread bladder cancer” in the specialties: 14.00.19 - radiation diagnostics, radiation therapy and 14.00.14 - oncology. In January 2006, the academic title of professor in the specialty "Oncology" was awarded [2] .
Published over 100 scientific papers [2] .
