Ganja Central City Stadium ( azerb. Gəncə şəhər mərkəzi stadionu ) [2] is the main stadium of the city of Ganja , as well as the second largest stadium in Azerbaijan, opened in 1959 [3] . It is the home arena of the Kapaz football club, playing in the Azerbaijan Football Premier League .

History
Built in 1959, the Ganja City Stadium is the central city stadium and seats 26,120 spectators. The stadium is the home arena for one of the most titled clubs in Azerbaijan - FC Kapaz, which became the champion of the Republic three times in 1995, 1998 and 1999 and won the Azerbaijan Cup four times in 1994, 1997, 1998 and 2000.
Reconstruction
Several times, attempts were made to reconstruct and repair the stadium that had fallen into disrepair, but each time, the work begun was not carried through to the end.
In November 2011, AFFA President Rovnag Abdullayev said that he was preparing a plan for the reconstruction of the Ganja stadium, after which, in 2012, the necessary work would begin. [four]
Another attempt was made on behalf of AFFA President Rovnag Abdullayev in 2013. According to AFFA Secretary General Elkhan Mammadov, in August 2013 repair work was supposed to be completed, which was supposed to be completed as soon as possible [5] , but no concrete steps were taken. [6]
