Biography
Born on August 18, 1909 in the village of Sulin (now the city of Krasny Sulin of the Rostov Region) in the family of a railwayman. After school, he went to work at the locomotive depot of Sulin station as an electrician.
In the early 1930s, he received a military-political education, becoming a professional soldier.
On March 21, 1943, the headquarters of the partisan movement in the Minsk region decided to create the 100th partisan brigade for them. SM Kirov, whose commissioner Mashkov was appointed. The brigade operated in Starodorozhsky district . On June 28, 1944, it joined up with units of the Red Army consisting of 6 partisan detachments with a total of 1,031 men.
In October 1943, by decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus, the underground regional committee created the Minsk underground city committee. Mashkov - secretary of propaganda. The underground city committee published the Minsk Bolshevik newspaper. An editorial to the first issue was written by G. N. Mashkov. In total, until the liberation of Minsk, 25 issues of the newspaper were issued with a total circulation of 10 thousand copies. In addition, the city committee set up printing leaflets covering the topical problems of the struggle in the enemy's rear, which informed the partisans and the population about important events during the war, and sent 15 editions printed in mass circulation to the city. The activities of the underground city committee took place in accordance with the directives of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus and under the leadership of the Minsk Regional Committee.
After the war he worked in responsible posts in the office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus , three times he was elected deputy of the Supreme Soviet of Belarus .
He died on July 19, 1991 . He was buried in Minsk at the Vostochnoye cemetery in the honorary precinct (sector 6, row 16, sector 1) [1]
