Geography
Located on the eastern outskirts of Atyashevo village (district center), 75 km north-east of Saransk and 40 km south-west of Alatyr .
The Chamzinka - Ardatov road (part of the Saransk-Alatyr route) passes through the village, the road to the village Dubyonki (to the R178 road) departs to the south.
Nearby, in the village of Atyashevo, there is a railway station. Atyashevo station on the line Romodanovo - Kanash .
Description
The village has a district industrial park, a secondary school, a feldsher-midwife station, a house of culture, a library, a shop. The village is gasified.
Near the village are archaeological monuments - the mounds of Srubna culture of the Bronze Age .
Atyashevo is the birthplace of scientists M. F. Zhiganova, O. V. Ishutkina, L. D. Kalinkina, G. A. Kornishina, T. I. Razdolkina, D. P. Rasseykina , G. S. Syuvatkina, I. V. Slushkina, S. I. Yunoshev, athlete V. P. Razdolkin.
The name is anthroponym: from the pre-Christian Mordovian name Atyash ( Otyazh ).

History
Founded in the 1st half of the 17th century. immigrants from the village of Atyashevo Sulemensky white hare (now in Bolsheignatovsky district ). According to the census of 1671, in Atyashev - 23 yards (31 males), 5 empty yards. The peasants were mainly engaged in farming, as well as hunting, fishing, beekeeping, hopping, making wooden utensils, carts. Residents participated in the Civil War of 1670–1671. (4 peasants killed in the Battle of the Kandarat River ). In July 1774, during the transition from the city of Alatyr to Saransk, Atyashev visited EI Pugachev with his troops.
In the village there were the 1st level Zemstvo folk school (1840), the Zemsky library (1896), the Ascension Church (1787), the volost administration, the post office, 1 steam and 13 windmills; arranged bazaars and fairs.
Until 1863, Atyashevo was the center of the order of the Alatyr specific office. Until 1928 - Volost center of Ardatovsky district of Simbirsk province . In 1928-1932 - Atyashevsky district district.
In 1930, the collective farm "Friendly", "Red October", they. Stalin, MTS; in 1956 - the collective farm. The 22nd Congress of the CPSU; since 1992 - Atyashevskiy SHPP.
