Biography
Born on June 8, 1923 in the city of Lysva, Perm Territory . Graduated from 6 classes. He worked as a mechanic at a metallurgical plant.
In December 1942 he was drafted into the Red Army . At the front in World War II from January 1943. Participated in the battle of Kursk, the liberation of Ukraine , Poland . By the beginning of 1945, Sergeant Starodumov was the commander of the foot reconnaissance platoon department of the 823rd Infantry Regiment of the 302nd Infantry Division.
On January 14, 1945, in a battle south-east of the village of Sokolino, Sergeant Starodumov exterminated over 10 opponents from a machine gun.
By order of January 22, 1945, Sergeant Starodumov Pyotr Georgievich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On February 20, 1945, on the outskirts of the city of Ratibor, Sergeant Starodumov, participating in the capture of the control prisoner, was the first to burst into the enemy’s trench, threw grenades at her, and captured the Nazi. Being wounded, he continued to carry out a combat mission.
By order of March 21, 1945, Sergeant Starodumov Pyotr Georgievich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
On May 8, 1945, Sergeant Starodumov, being reconnaissance in the area of the village of Yablunov, joined the group as a part of the battle with superior enemy forces, enabling our infantry to take an advantageous position.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, for the exceptional courage, bravery and fearlessness shown in battles with enemy invaders, Sergeant Starodumov Pyotr Georgievich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree He became a full knight of the Order of Glory.
In 1947 he was demobilized. He returned to his hometown. He worked as an annealer at a metallurgical, then at a turbogenerator plant. He died on December 13, 1998.
He was awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Glory of 3 degrees, medals.
