The station is located in the area of San Nicolas , at the intersection of Sarmiento and Avenida Roque Saenz Peña streets, from the latter, also called the Diagonal Norte, metro station and received its name. Diagonal Norte Station was opened on November 9, 1934 . In 1997, the station was included in the number of National historical monuments [1] .
The station is decorated with 2 ceramic panels of size 15.80 x 1.85 meters, made according to the sketches of 1934 by artists Martin S. Noel and Manuel Eskasani and made in Segovia . On one panel depicts the Spanish cities of Avila , Toledo , Soria and Segovia , on the second - Burgos , Madrid , Aranjuez and again Madrid .
