The station is located on the border areas of Palermo and Collehiales , at the intersection of Avenida Cabildo and Avenida Federico Lacros streets. The station was opened on May 31, 1997 in the presence of the then head of the city government, Fernando de la Roi . The estimated cost of extending the line and building a new station was $ 20 million. The station was named after Juan Jose Orelios , a participant in the war for the independence of Argentina .
