Born on September 16, 1924 in the village of Palnoe, Rybnovsky district, Ryazan region . Member of the CPSU / CPSU since 1945. He graduated from elementary school and special courses, worked as an electrician and minder at the Pervomaisk peat enterprise in the Balakhninsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region .

In the Red Army since August 1942. In the battles of World War II from February 1943. He participated in the battles on the Kursk, liberated Ukraine , Romania, Poland .

The machine gunner of the 74th separate motorcycle battalion, senior sergeant Dubov, in July 1944, when liberating the village of Konskovol, suddenly burst into the enemy’s location and killed 4 opponents.

By order of the corps commander dated August 5, 1944, Senior Sergeant Dubov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

Acting in the same combat structure, in March 1945, under the settlement of Goldbek with the crew of an armored personnel carrier, senior sergeant Dubov destroyed over ten enemy soldiers, three carts with ammunition and equipment.

By order of the 2nd Guards Tank Army of April 14, 1945, Senior Sergeant Dubov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

On April 29, 1945, the crew of an armored personnel carrier under the command of Dubov received an order to capture and hold a bridge over a canal in the city of Alt-Teplitz. Having knocked down the barrier, they reached the bridge, but were fired upon by the Fausters and machine gunners from the opposite bank. Dubov took the car to cover, and himself, with two scouts, quietly for the opponents moved to the other side and entered into battle with the enemy. At the same time, they cut the wires going to the explosives laid under the bridge. The crew kept the crossing until the approach of our fighters and provided their cover when crossing the water barrier. During the battle, about twenty opponents were killed. Personally, Dubov destroyed six enemy soldiers.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, for sergeance, courage and heroism, Senior Sergeant Ivan Dubov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.

In 1947, the horror Oaks was demobilized. He worked on the construction of the Kremenchug and Votkinsk power plants. He lived and worked in the city of Tchaikovsky in the Perm Region, headed the section of Gidrospetsstroy, was the head of the Votkinsk section of the Ural special department of Soyuzhydrospetsstroy. For success in work he was awarded the medal "For Labor Valor". Last years he lived in the village of Markovsky.

He died on December 12, 2001.

He was awarded three Orders of Glory, the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, medals.

The name of I.V. Dubov was given to a secondary school in the village of Markovsky, Tchaikovsky District, Perm Region. A memorial plaque is open on the house where he lived. In the city of Tchaikovsky installed a bust. In the village of Markovsky, the annual volleyball tournament for the cup named after the full holder of orders of the Glory of Ivan Vasilievich Dubov is held.
