Biography
Born on July 2, 1908 in the village of Yurki, Kozelshchyna district, Poltava region of Ukraine . Ukrainian. Graduated 3 classes. He worked at the farm.
In the Red Army since September 1941. On the front in the Great Patriotic War from December of the same year. He fought in the infantry. By the end of 1943, guard sergeant Kravchenko was the commander of the machine gun department of the machine gun company of the 210th guards rifle regiment of the 71st guards rifle division.
On December 2, 1943, in a battle near the village of Torchilikha, while repelling the attacks of superior forces of the enemy guard, Sergeant Kravchenko, left alone and being wounded, did not leave the battlefield, and continued to fire from the machine gun until the battle ended. December 3 in the same area was again wounded, but again remained in the ranks.
By an order of December 24, 1943, the guard Sergeant Kravchenko Mikhail Nikitovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
Next were the battles for the liberation of the Baltic states , the forcing of the Western Dvina . In 1944 he joined the CPSU / CPSU.
On August 13, 1944, while counterattacking the enemy’s tanks and infantry at the Anes-Memele settlement of the guard, Sergeant Major Kravchenko cut off the enemy infantry from the tanks with machine guns and made it lay down, killing over 10 opponents. The company’s attack was repelled by grenades.
By an order of September 30, 1944, the foreman Mikhail Kravchenko, Mikhail Nikitovich, was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
On November 1, 1944, in the battle for the Krugly forest near the village of Muzeneki Guards, the foreman Kravchenko, firing and showing courage and resilience, repelled 6 enemy attacks, destroyed a large number of opponents and put down 6 fire points. Under the cover of his fire, the rifle units drove opponents out of the forest.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for exemplary performance of the tasks of the command in battles with the German-enemy invaders of the guard, foreman Mikhail Nikitovich Kravchenko was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. Became a full gentleman of the Order of Glory.
In 1945 he was demobilized. He lived in the village Kordubanova Globinsky district of Poltava region . He was a worker in the sugar beet farm. He died on July 31, 1983.
He was awarded the Order of the Red Star , Glory of 3 degrees, medals.
