Biography

Born on January 19, 1904 in the village of Yanguzhinsky Maidan (now in the Kovylkinsky District of the Republic of Mordovia ). Graduated 4 classes. In 1924, he went to the out-of-the-art fisheries - he went to work at the Karton Peat Enterprise, which provided Elektrogorsk GRES. He lived in the village Melezhi Kirzhachsky district, Vladimir region . From the rank and file workers, he moved to the position of the first peat brigade leader, then field manager, and the site manager. In 1931 he joined the VKP / CPSU.

In September 1941 he was drafted into the Red Army . He fought on the Western, Central, 2nd Ukrainian and 1st Byelorussian fronts. By the summer of 1943, the guard corporal Yershov fought as a part of the motorized battalion of submachine gunners of the 11th Guards separate tank brigade.

In August 1943, on one of the sections of the Central Front, which defended the motorized rifle battalion, where Ershov served, a fierce battle broke out. Only in the battles from August 1 to August 8, 1943, the mortar crew, in which Yefim Ershov was loader, destroyed 93 enemy soldiers, one cannon, three enemy mortars, one light machine gun and one car. Calculation soldiers captured two opponents. In this battle, the party organizer Yershov destroyed six opponents from his personal weapon and was awarded the Order of the Red Star .

January 26 - February 20, 1944 in battles on the territory of the Vinnitsa region of Ukraine near the villages of the Ocheretnya, Tatyashchevka and Pochapintsy guards sergeant Yershov commanded the division of machine gunners. With their fighters, more than 100 soldiers and officers of the enemy were killed, one machine gun and one car. From personal weapons in these battles Yershov destroyed 25 opponents. He was presented to the commander of the award, but as long as the documents went, Ershov again distinguished himself.

On March 5-12, 1944, during the fighting to eliminate the enemy's Korsun-Shevchenko grouping, near the villages of Ulyanovka and Dzhulinka, the commander of the mortar calculation of the guard sergeant Yershov with the calculation destroyed many soldiers and officers of the enemy, hit 6 vehicles with cargo, a cannon and a large-caliber machine gun. In the final battles of the Great Patriotic War, on German soil, Guards, the senior sergeant Yershov was the commander of an armored personnel carrier of a separate reconnaissance company of the same 11th Guards separate heavy tank brigade.

During the period of hostilities since April 14, 1945, the senior sergeant Ershov made 32 reconnaissance outposts to the Guard, and from each search he delivered valuable information about the enemy. On April 19, in the area of ​​Strausberg, risking his life every minute, under heavy enemy fire, Ershov made his way to the location of the enemy troops and accurately determined the location of the ambush of enemy tanks. He promptly reported this to his command. As a result, the tanks of his brigade successfully made a roundabout maneuver. On April 28, in the Berlin area, he made his way to the rear of the enemy and, together with a group of scouts, entered into an unequal battle with the Nazis, armed with faustpatrons. In the fray, the Ershov group destroyed nine opponents, and took two prisoners.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, for exemplary performance of the tasks of the command in battles with the German-enemy invaders of the Guard, senior sergeant Ershov Efim Fedorovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. Became a full gentleman of the Order of Glory.

In September 1945, he was demobilized. He returned to the village Melezhi. He worked as a site manager at the same peat factory. For the high performance achieved in socialist competition, for his valiant work, he was awarded the highest award of the country - the Order of Lenin . Since 1963, he lived in the village of Filippovskoe of the same Kirzhach district of the Vladimir region . He died on November 25, 1965.
