Biography

Born on March 5, 1922 in the village of Arnautovo (now Maloarkhangelsky district of the Oryol region ) in a peasant family. He graduated from grade 4. He worked on a collective farm.

He was drafted into the Red Army by the Bobruisk Military Commissariat of the Byelorussian SSR, and from that time on the front in the battles of the Great Patriotic War.

The machine gunner of the 954th rifle regiment, Red Army soldier Valentin Mishin, during the battles from October 5 to 7, 1944, destroyed up to ten opponents near the Polish village of Gorzelka.

By order of the 194th Infantry Division of October 14, 1944, for the courage and bravery shown in battles, Red Army soldier Mishin Valentin Fedorovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

On October 24-25, 1944, in the area of ​​the Polish settlement of Boba, the Red Army soldier Valentin Mishin put down three enemy firing points from a machine gun, in the area of ​​the Polish settlement of Klesho Nove, crossing the Pelt River, and at the critical moment of battle replaced the out-of-command commander of a machine gun crew, striking over ten opponents.

By order of the 48th Army of November 13, 1944, Red Army soldier Mishin Valentin Fedorovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree for courage and bravery shown in battles.

The commander of the machine gun crew of the 954th rifle regiment, junior sergeant Valentin Mishin with the soldiers of the crew entrusted to him on January 16, 1945 near the Polish settlement of Osnitsa, helped the shooters repel three enemy counterattacks and destroyed over two dozen opponents.

In this battle, Junior Sergeant Mishin was seriously injured and died. He was buried in the Polish town of Osnitsa (now - in the commune of Karnevo , Makow county of the Masovian Voivodeship ).

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, Junior Sergeant Mishin Valentin Fedorovich posthumously awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree, becoming the full holder of the Order of Glory for exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with German-enemy invaders.

He was awarded the Orders of Glory of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd degree.
