Short Biography
Born in the family of a lawyer. In 1953 he graduated from the History Department of Kiev State University . In 1953-1955 taught history in secondary rural schools. In 1955-1960 - head of the cabinet of the foundations of Marxism-Leninism in the branch of the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute in Obninsk . In 1960-1966 - Junior research fellow at the Institute of Asian Peoples of the USSR Academy of Sciences . In 1962 he defended his thesis on the problems of the Chartist movement in England. In 1966, he joined the Institute of the International Labor Movement , where he soon became the head of the sector. In 1975, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the problems of the formation and development of the communist movement in Asia. He was fluent in four western and two eastern languages [1] .
Scientific activity
He made a significant contribution to the study of the Chartist movement in England and the period of “guided democracy” in Indonesia [2] , the activities of the Asian Communist Parties ( India , Indonesia , the Philippines ), to the study of the strategy and tactics of the Communist International , the history and theory of the international labor movement , and the history of the Islamic revolution in Iran [3] . The only researcher to predict the events of September 30, 1965 in Indonesia [4] [5]
