Biography
Born on November 13, 1923 in the village of Arkhangelskoye, Yasinovatsky District, Donetsk Region . Ukrainian. He graduated from 10 classes. He worked as a driller in a geological exploration expedition.
At the beginning of World War II, he worked on the construction of defensive structures on the Dnieper. The circumstances were such that it was not possible to evacuate. Remaining in the occupied territory, he was hijacked to Germany . On the road, he ran out of the train.
After long wanderings he went out to meet the advancing units of the Red Army . At the front since August 1943. He fought as part of the 50th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 15th Guards Rifle Division. At first he was a medical instructor, then in a mortar crew.
In January 1944, in the battle for the village of Vodyanoye, the medical officer of the guard, Junior Sergeant Chuiko, removed from the artillery and mortar fire the enemy of the seriously wounded commander. On February 4, 14 wounded soldiers with their personal weapons were evacuated from the battlefield.
By order of March 23, 1944, Junior Sergeant Chuyko Porfiry Ivanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On January 16-20, 1945, during the breakthrough of the enemy defenses near Opole-Dziadulka, as well as in battles near the village of Gutki and near the city of Lublinets, the commander of the mortar department of the guard, sergeant Chuyko, crushed 4 enemy machine-gun points with his calculation, and struck more than 15 opponents. He was presented for awarding the Order of Glory .
March 15-18, 1945, in the battles for the village of Girsdorf, the calculation of the guard of sergeant Chuiko with targeted fire exterminated over 10 enemy soldiers, smashed 5 machine gun nests.
By an order of April 27, 1945, the guard Sergeant Chuyko Porfiry Ivanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
After the Victory, he continued to serve in the army.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, for the exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with German-enemy invaders at the final stage of the Great Patriotic War of the Guard, Sergeant Chuiko Porfiry Ivanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
In 1947 he was demobilized.
He lived in the city of Korsun-Shevchenkovsky, Cherkasy region . Initially, he was a driver at a power plant. After graduating from film projection courses, he worked in this specialty, then worked in private security.
Died April 3, 1992.
He was awarded two orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Glory of 3 degrees, medals.
