The station is located in the Palermo district, at the intersection of Avenida Santa Fe and Avenida Scalabrini Ortiz . The street and metro station were named after Raul Skalabrini Ortiz , writer, journalist and public figure of the first half of the 20th century. The original station was named after the British Prime Minister and diplomat George Cunning of the early 19th century. The station was opened on December 29, 1938. In 1997, the station was included in the list of National Historic Monuments [1] .
Station platforms are decorated with 2 murals telling about the north-west of Argentina, measuring 15.5 x 1.8 meters. The first fresco is made according to a 1938 sketch by the artist Rodolfo Franco, called "Memoirs of Salta " ( Spanish. Evocaciones de Salta ), and the other - "Peasant works" ( Spanish Tareas campesinas ).
