Biography
Born July 13 (26), 1913 in the village of Saruy, Tsivilsky district, Kazan province, Urmarsky district of Chuvashia. Chuvash. In 1925 he graduated from elementary school in his village. He worked as a collective farmer, tractor driver on the collective farm Trud of the Urmarsky district.
In November 1937 he was drafted into the Red Army by the Urmarsky district military enlistment office. He graduated from the school of junior commanders, served as a tank driver. Member of the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940. After demobilization in December 1940 he returned to his homeland, was elected chairman of the collective farm.
In June 1941 he was again drafted into the army. At the front since November of that year. Defended Moscow . From 1942 until the Victory he fought as part of the 25th tank brigade, was a scout of the control company. Member of the CPSU / CPSU since 1942. He fought on the Central, Voronezh, Stepnoy, 2nd Ukrainian , 1st Baltic , 2nd and 3rd Belorussian fronts. He participated in the battle on the Kursk Bulge, liberated Belgorod, Kharkov, Kirovograd, forced the Dnieper, participated in battles near Korsun-Shevchenkovsky, in the liberation of Belarus, Lithuania and Poland .
On January 29, 1944, Petty Officer Porfiryev P.P., as part of an amphibious assault group on tanks, penetrated the enemy rear in the area of Sam-Gorodok village. Along the way, the paratroopers stumbled upon an enemy convoy with valuable military equipment. In the ensuing exchange of fire, he destroyed about 10 enemy soldiers from a machine gun, and removed a wounded commander from under the fire.
In the spring of 1944 at night with a group penetrated the enemy rear in the area of the city of Uman. Scouts entered artillery positions, destroyed the crew with fire from machine guns, and captured several prisoners. Having deployed the captured weapon in the direction of the city occupied by the enemy, they fired all the ammunition, then blew up the weapon and safely returned to the unit.
By order of April 20, 1944, Sergeant Porfiriev Pavel Porfirievich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
In early October 1944, Petty Officer Porfiryev P.P. with a capture group on three armored personnel carriers, accompanied by two tanks, penetrated the rear of the enemy near the village of Medygyany. Suddenly bursting into the streets of the village, the scouts knocked out the enemy, capturing more than fifty vehicles, carts. Having occupied a settlement, the scouts held it until the main forces arrived, destroyed up to forty enemy soldiers. On October 7, continuing the raid behind enemy lines, they liberated another settlement, repelling all the enemy’s counterattacks.
By order of October 25, 1944, Sergeant Porfiriev Pavel Porfirievich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
During the offensive in East Prussia, the armored personnel compartment, led by foreman Porfiryev P.P., acted, as a rule, at the rear of the enemy.
In January 1945, on the outskirts of Deutsch-Eylau, after making a 70-km throw at the rear of the enemy, an armored personnel compartment with a tank attached at night suddenly burst into the railway station. Scouts captured the military echelons at the station, taking up a circular defense, repelled four enemy attacks, until the main forces of the brigade approached.
On January 23, 1945, foreman Porfiryev P.P. with a group of fighters blew up a railway track behind enemy lines in the vicinity of Polvitten station. On their return, the scouts took on the battle with superior enemy forces. At the same time, Porfiryev personally exterminated up to 10 soldiers, many of them were captured.
On January 24, 1945, an armored personnel compartment under the command of foreman Porfiryev P.P. saddled an important crossroads near the city of Elbing, seized the bridge. Fighting off the enemy’s counterattack, the scouts crashed fifteen cars, destroyed about fifty enemy soldiers and officers.
The intelligence officer Porfiryev P.P. ended the war as an officer. On June 24, 1945, at the Victory Victory Parade, junior lieutenant P. P. Porfiryev walked along Red Square in a column of the best soldiers of the 2nd Belorussian Front.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 29, 1945 for courage, bravery and heroism, Sergeant Porfiriev Pavel Porfirievich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
In October 1945 he was demobilized. Returning to his homeland, he worked as deputy chairman, chairman, secretary of the party organization of the Trud collective farm in the Urmarsky district. From May 1952 until his retirement in November 1976 he worked as a forester at the Shorkistrinsky and Yanshikhovsky forestries of the Kanash forestry. It is entered in the Honorary Book of Heroism and Labor Glory of the Chuvash Republic.
He lived in his native village of Saruy, Urmarsky district, Chuvash republic. He died on January 20, 1992. Buried in a village cemetery.
He was awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st and 2nd degrees, the Red Star , Glories of 3 degrees, medals, including two medals "For Courage".
A Urmar secondary school is named after him, a memorial plaque is installed on the house where the veteran lived.
