Biography
Since 1932, the family lived in Petrozavodsk . He graduated from 7 classes. My father died in the Soviet-Finnish War (1939-1940) , and the school had to be abandoned. He entered as a turner student at the Onega Tractor Plant . Very soon he began to work independently, it was necessary to help his mother.
The first months of the Soviet-Finnish War (1941-1944) continued to work at the factory. For exemplary and dedicated work on the implementation of the most important defense mission, he was awarded the Certificate of Honor. During the day he worked at the machine, at night he dug defensive trenches around Petrozavodsk.
In April 1942 he was drafted into the Red Army . He underwent military training in a reserve regiment located in Kandalaksha . In September 1942 he was sent to the 205th Infantry Division, which conducted military operations in the Karelian-Finnish SSR , in the Kesteng direction. He was appointed division commander in the foot reconnaissance platoon of the 731th Infantry Regiment. As part of this regiment, he went all the way on the Karelian and 2nd Belorussian fronts. In the first battles, Kuznetsov proved himself a brave and skillful warrior. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1943.
On June 25-27, 1944, at the Kampanets Lake, Sergeant Kuznetsov skillfully carried out reconnaissance of the fire weapons of the enemy garrison. The forces of the detachment ambushed the enemy’s withdrawal path. In a short battle, more than 10 enemy soldiers were exterminated, 2 communication lines were broken. He was seriously wounded, but remained in service until the combat mission.
By order of September 4, 1944, Sergeant Kuznetsov Alexei Nikolaevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On September 16, strong machine-gun fire from a well-fortified bunker blocked the path of the advancing rifle divisions on the highway between Kestenga and Kontila. Kuznetsov with the group went to the rear of the firing point and threw grenades at it, the machine gun fell silent. At this time, to help the garrison, the bunker appeared before the platoon of opponents. In a fierce battle, Kuznetsov and his fighters fought off four violent attacks, destroying more than a dozen enemy soldiers. Kuznetsov was wounded, but continued to fight the enemy until reinforcements arrived.
By order of November 8, 1944, Sergeant Kuznetsov Alexei Nikolaevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
In the fall of 1944, the division was transferred to the 2nd Belorussian Front . In its composition, in the spring of 1945 Kuznetsov participated in battles in Eastern Pomerania for the cities of Keslin, Gdynia and Danzig.
March 3, 1945 in the battle for the village of Tsekhendorf Kuznetsov, risking his life, crawled to the enemy machine gun, which interfered with the advancement of our shooters, and blew it up with a grenade along with the calculation. In one of the battles, in front of the enemy, he brought out a wounded regiment commander from under fire, in Gdynia, together with his scouts, more than once met in hand-to-hand battles with the Nazis.
In total, during the years of the war, the intelligence officer Kuznetsov was wounded six times, once severely shell-shocked.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 29, 1945, Sergeant Kuznetsov Alexei Nikolaevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree for courage, bravery and heroism. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
In 1945, the foreman Kuznetsov was demobilized. He returned to Petrozavodsk. He restored the Onega Tractor Plant, from where he went to the front, then served for several years in the organs of the Ministry of the Interior of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. He worked as an assembler-wrapper of power transformers at the Petrozavodsk Experimental Mechanical Plant, an electrician in trolleybus control. He lived in the city of Petrozavodsk.
Died April 3, 1999.
He was awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Order of the Red Star, Glory of 3 degrees, medals.
