Biography

Born December 26, 1923 in the village of Udmurt Gondyrevo, Alnash district of Udmurtia. Udmurt. He graduated from 7 classes. He worked as a blacksmith on a collective farm.

In April 1942 he was drafted into the Red Army by the Alnash regional military enlistment office. He went through military training at a machine gun school and received a machine gunner specialty. In November 1942 he was sent to the 97th Guards Rifle Division, which occupied the defense on the southern front of the Kursk Bulge in the area of ​​the city of Oboyan. The entire battle path was part of the 289th Guards Rifle Regiment, first a machine gunner, then a scout. He fought on the South-Western, 1st and 2nd Ukrainian fronts.

In the summer battles of 1943, the young soldier established himself as a brave and resourceful warrior. When the division entered Right-Bank Ukraine , he was already an experienced commander of machine gun crew.

During the offensive on the city of Kirovograd, the machine gunner Vinogradov destroyed about a hundred fascists. Under the village of Krasny Kut when repulsing an enemy’s counterattack with well-aimed machine-gun fire, the compartment of the enemy machine gunners from the tanks made them lie down. The tanks rushing forward were destroyed by artillerymen. Next 3 more attacks were repelled. January 5, 1944 machine-gun fire suppressed 2 firing points of the enemy. On January 6, about 10 enemy soldiers were killed.

A few days after the presentation of the award, when there was an urgent need to capture the prisoner, Vinogradov volunteered to go into reconnaissance. On the night of February 1, he captured an enemy sniper. “Language” has proven valuable. The next day, by order of the regiment commander, Lt. Col. Naumenko was transferred to regimental intelligence. Having become a full-time intelligence officer, in a short time Vinogradov led nine “languages”.

The offensive developed successfully, and on April 13, 1944, the division reached the Dniester River. In late April, Vinogradov was admitted to the ranks of the CPSU and again distinguished himself in battle on the Dniester bridgehead.

On the night of May 5, 1944 of the Guard, Senior Sergeant Vinogradov led a group of scouts of 3 people. Having burst into the enemy’s trench near the village of Pugacheni, the scouts captured a non-commissioned officer and delivered him to the regiment’s headquarters. In this battle, Vinogradov exterminated about 10 opponents. During interrogation, the prisoner gave detailed information about the defense, which were taken into account when organizing the advance of the division. On May 22, the regiment commander was presented for awarding the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.

While award documents went to the courts, the fighting continued. On May 17, the foreman Vinogradov was appointed to the officer post - commander of a reconnaissance platoon. At the end of June 1944, the 5th Guards Army was transferred to the 1st Ukrainian Front. After relocation and rest in early August, she crossed to Sandomierz bridgehead on the left bank of the Vistula River, and joined in fierce fighting on the bridgehead.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 13, 1944, for the exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with German-enemy invaders of the guard, Senior Sergeant Vinogradov Alexander Fedotovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.

In early October, he was awarded the first officer rank - junior lieutenant. In the newspaper "Red Star" was published an essay about a brave intelligence officer. On October 12, 1944, in the battle during the next reconnaissance of the guard, the second lieutenant Vinogradov died.

He was buried in the village of Korytnitsa of the Rodomsk Voivodeship.

He was awarded the Order of Glory of 3 degrees.

In the village of Udmurt-Gondyrevo, where Alexander Vinogradov lived, there is a street named after him. Also, his name is the local comprehensive school, a museum of military glory.
