Biography
Born on June 16, 1915 in the village of Strelna (now the Petrodvorets district of St. Petersburg). Graduated from 5 classes. He worked as a mechanic in a labor colony in the village of Novoznamenka, Krasnoselsky District.
At the beginning of World War II, Nikolai Andreev, freed from draft in the army, found himself in the temporarily occupied territory. Opponents, suspecting each dressed as a Red Army soldier, threw him into a prisoner of war camp. At the end of October 1941, Andreev fled from the camp, wandered through forests and swamps for a long time, until he met with the partisans. He became a demolition fighter, actively participated in the so-called "rail war", raided enemy garrisons. In early 1944, near Polotsk, partisans joined with the advancing units of the Red Army .
At the front since January 1944. He was enlisted in the 1st Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade as a submachine gunner. In the very first battles as part of this brigade, he proved himself a brave and skillful warrior, participated in the liberation of Minsk, Bobruisk, and Osipovichi.
In the battle for the city of Bobruisk Guards, Red Army soldier Andreev was the first to burst into the enemy’s location and destroyed 11 enemy soldiers. In one of the following battles he was wounded. Having recovered, he returned to his hometown again, where military awards awaited him - the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree and the medal “For Courage”.
By an order of July 20, 1944, the Red Army soldier Andreev Nikolay Semenovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
As part of his brigade, he participated in the battles for the liberation of Poland , distinguished himself in breaking through a deeply echeloned defense on the Narew River north of Warsaw in the winter of 1945. In the battle for the settlement, Shiroslav secretly crept up to the house and with a grenade crushed the enemy’s firing point located there. On February 2, when breaking through the enemy’s defense, he destroyed the enemy’s firing point and eight enemy soldiers, and carried a seriously wounded commander from the battlefield.
By an order of April 2, 1945, the guard Sergeant Andreev Nikolay Semenovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
In April 1945, fierce battles unfolded on the Oder. In the offensive from April 25 to May 3, 1945, the guard sergeant Andreev with his machine gunners acted, as a rule, in the head unit. The submachine gunners were the first to burst into enemy trenches "destroying the Faustniks and seizing the crossings.
In one of the battles during the liberation of the city of Treptov, Andreev was the first to break into the enemy trench, grapple with hand-to-hand combat and destroy nine opponents. He was wounded again, but did not leave the battlefield until the commander ordered him to go to the medical center.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 29, 1945, for sergeant, courage and heroism of the guard, senior sergeant Andreev Nikolai Semenovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
In the fall of 1945 he was demobilized. He returned to Leningrad. First he worked at a car repair base, then he was an instructor in a children's labor colony, and since 1953 he has been working as a mechanic at the Leningrad Electromechanical Plant. He lived in the city of Petrodvorets. Died June 22, 1986. He was buried at the Sergievsky cemetery in the village of Strelna.
He was awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, glory of 3 degrees, medals, including "For Courage".
