Title
Name of cult origin: in connection with the construction of the church in the name of St. Nicholas the Pleasant, the village of Lipyaga was renamed Nikolskoye. The definition of “free” indicates that the locality was not owned.
Geography
Located on the rivers Kulikovka and Seleznevka, 18 km from the regional center and 50 km from the Torbeevo railway station.
History
It arose at the end of the 17th century.
In the "List of Populated Places of the Penza Province" (1869) Nikolskoye (Lipyagi) - a state-owned village out of 103 yards of the Krasnoslobodsky district.
According to the census of 1913, there were 259 yards in the village (1,571 people); school, church, distillery and brick factories, a bakery, fire truck, 6 windmills, 4 oil churns and wadders, 2 forges, 2 shops, 3 brick sheds.
In 1931, there were 361 households in the village (1,680 people).
In 1951, the collective farm was established to them. Lenin, who was engaged in the production of meat, milk, wool, grain, potatoes. Since 1992 - SKHPK them. Lenin.
Until May 26, 2014, it was the center of the Volno-Nikolsky rural settlement .
On May 26, 2014, a decision was made to unite the Volno-Nikolskoye rural settlement and the Kurtashkinsky rural settlement into a newly formed municipality - the Kurtashkinsky rural settlement of the Atyuryevsky municipal district with an administrative center in the village of Kurtashki [2] .
