Arga ( Moksh. Yomla Kashal - “Small Kishaly”) is a village, the center of the village administration in the Aturyevsky district . The population of 170 people. (2001), mainly Mordvokamsha.

Located on the river Arge Nyarskaya, 20 km from the regional center and 50 km from the Torbeevo railway station. The name is hydronym: arga " rapid river". It was founded in the 16th century. Mentioned in the "Book of the Letter and the Watch of Ivan Usov and Ilya Dubrovsky in 1614." In the “List of Populated Places of the Tambov Province” (1866), Arga is a state village from 51 courtyards of Temnikovsky district . In 1912, a zemstvo school was built in Arga. On the eve of the October Revolution, a Council of Peasant Deputies was elected. In 1932 the collective farm “Ombotse Five Year Plan” (“Second Five Year Plan”) was created; later - the department of the fattening farm "Atyuryevsky"; since 1992 - agricultural production complex “Atyuryevsky” with a central estate in the village of Chudinka. In the modern infrastructure of the village - a school, club, library, first-aid post, shop, post office. The archaeological site is the settlement of Arga 1 (12-17 centuries). The Arginsky rural administration includes the villages of Chudinka (225 people) and Lesnaya (3), s. Shaly (4 people).
