Biography

Born in the municipality of Borgonovo Val Tidone . He made tools from 1729 until his death. He worked and lived in four cities of Piacenza , Milan , Parma and Turin . Tools made in the last period of his life in Turin are considered his best works. His son, Giuseppe, continued the work of his father.

He died in Turin in 1786.

Tool Theft

December 12, 2016. The violin made in 1747 by Italian violin master Giovanni Batista Guadanini was stolen from the artistic director of the International Music Festival in Sion , musician Pavel Vernikov in Switzerland , the insured value of the violin is $ 1.5 million [1] [2] .
