Biography

Born on August 26, 1921 in the village of Kryukovichi, Kalinkovichi district, Gomel region of Belarus, in a peasant family. Byelorussian. In 1937 he graduated from 7 classes. Until 1938 he worked on a collective farm in his homeland, then as an accountant in Domanovichi of the Gomel region of Belarus.

In the Red Army since October 6, 1940. Since 1941, he served in the Red Banner Baltic Fleet. In the battles of World War II from June 1941, he fought in the ground forces on the Leningrad and 1st Ukrainian fronts. Member of the CPSU / CPSU since 1943.

The commander of the calculation of the 45-mm gun of the 115th separate fighter-anti-tank battalion, senior sergeant Vladimir Majar, on January 20, 1945, distinguished himself especially in battle in the area of ​​the Polish settlement of Mikhaluvka. Supporting the actions of the rifle battalion, the Majar’s gun crew with a well-aimed artillery fire destroyed two machine guns with calculations and suppressed the fire of the enemy guns.

By order of the 13th Infantry Division dated January 27, 1945 No. 07, for the courage and bravery shown in battles, Senior Sergeant Majar Vladimir Romanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

On January 31, 1945, north-west of the German city of Kozel, the Polish city of Kendzezhin-Kozle, the calculation of a 45-mm gun under the command of Senior Sergeant Vladimir Majar destroyed direct fire with up to two dozen opponents.

By order of the 59th Army of February 18, 1945 No. 20, for the courage and bravery shown in battles, Senior Sergeant Majar Vladimir Romanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

On March 21, 1945, in the battle south-east of the Polish city of Prudnik, moving in battle formations of the infantry, the gun crew of the senior sergeant Vladimir Majar suppressed two machine guns with artillery fire, repelled the enemy’s attack, destroyed over ten enemy soldiers and captured one officer.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 27, 1945, for the exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with German-enemy invaders, Senior Sergeant Majar Vladimir Romanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree, becoming the full holder of the Order of Glory.

In 1946, the foreman Majar V. R was demobilized. He worked as an accountant, foreman, then a forestry technician in Domanovic and Ozarichsky forestries. He lived in the village of Kryukovichi, Kalinkovichi district of Belarus. Died July 3, 1985.

He was awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Red Star , Glory of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree, medals.
