Biography
Vasily Solovyov was born on January 29 ( February 11 ), 1909 , into a large peasant family in the village of Domozhirovo, Belozersky volost, Kurgan district, Tobolsk province , now the village is part of the Belozersky village council of the Belozersky district of the Kurgan region . In the late 1920s he graduated from educational program (3 classes). He worked as a tractor driver on a collective farm.
From 1931 to 1933 he served in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army in the Far East. After being transferred to the reserve, he again worked on a collective farm in his native village.
In 1938 he moved to live at the station of Kosobrodsk (since 1944, the working village of Red October). He worked as a tractor driver at a forest station.
At the front in World War II from August 1941, he was called up by the Yurgamysh RVC of the Chelyabinsk region. He fought as a machine gunner. After one of the heavy battles in the battalion, not a single medical worker was left alive and Vasily Zakharovich voluntarily transferred to the orderlies [1] .
Sanitary instructor of the 2nd Tank Battalion of the 45th Guards Tank Brigade of the Guard, Sergeant Major Solovyov, during the period from April 19 to 30, 1944, during the battles in the Chernivtsi direction, he evacuated 33 wounded with their weapons, including three officers, providing the soldiers with the first medical help.
On May 1, 1944, he carried an officer and three soldiers from a burning tank.
By order of the 11th Guards Tank Corps of June 21, 1944, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
From July 16 to August 18, 1944, during the crossing of the Western Bug and Vistula rivers, he provided medical assistance to 39 soldiers. In the battles at the Sandomierz bridgehead on the Vistula river near the city of Klimonszów, he brought 10 officers, 29 soldiers and sergeants from the battlefield.
By order of the 1st Tank Army of October 9, 1944, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
On January 15-26, 1945, in the vicinity of the city of Slyasin, 5 officers and 3 wounded machine gunners with their personal weapons were evacuated from the battlefield.
On the night of January 26, 1945, despite being wounded, under enemy fire, he took out a wounded commander from a burning tank and transported him to a safe place.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 31, 1945, he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree for courage, bravery and heroism.
In 1945, demobilized. He lived in the working village of Red October, Kargapolsky District, Kurgan Region . He worked at the Kosobrod oil depot. Non-partisan.
He died on May 19, 1984 . He was buried in the village of Red October Kargapolsky district of the Kurgan region .
