Biography
Born on January 5, 1924 at the Rovna farm (now the Veidelevsky district of the Belgorod region ). He graduated from 7 classes. He was the foreman of the field crew on the collective farm, worked as a loader at the Uzlovaya railway station in the Tula region .
In the Red Army since February 1943. Member of World War II from March 1943. He fought on the South-West, 3rd Ukrainian and 1st Belorussian fronts. He took part in the liberation of Ukraine , Moldova, Poland , in battles in Germany . In 1944 he joined the CPSU (b) [2] .
Sergeant Dmitry Kushnaryov, commander of the 104th Separate Guards Engineer Battalion of the Guard, on August 22, 1944, on the right bank of the Reut River near the city of Orhei, made a passage in the enemy’s wire fences for the advancing infantry and equipment of the division. By order of the 89th Guards Rifle Division No. 030 / n dated August 30, 1944, Sergeant Kushnaryov Dmitry Panteleevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree for courage and bravery shown in battles.
On the night of January 14, 1945, the commander of the 104th Separate Guards Engineer Battalion Guards, Senior Sergeant Dmitry Kushnaryov, at the head of a continuous firing group, made a passage in the minefield and wire fences of the enemy in the area of the settlement of Buda-Mikhailovsk, which ensured the swift infantry operations . By order of the 5th shock army No. 013 / n dated January 30, 1945, for the courage and bravery shown in the battles of the guard, Senior Sergeant Kushnaryov Dmitry Panteleevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
Leading the barrage group, Dmitry Kushnaryov on the night of April 14, 1945, under heavy enemy fire, made a passage in his wire fences on the left bank of the Oder River up to 20 meters wide, provided the actions of self-propelled artillery and infantry. Participated in the storming of Berlin. On April 22, he was wounded in a street battle. After winning the hospital, Senior Sergeant Kushnaryov found out about the high award. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 31, 1945, for the exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with the German enemy invaders of the guard, senior sergeant Dmitry Kushnaryov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree, becoming the full holder of the Order of Glory.
After the war, he continued to serve in the Armed Forces of the USSR for some time. In 1948, the foreman D.P. Kushnaryov was demobilized. In 1957 he graduated from the trade and cooperative technical school in Engels ( Saratov Region ) [2] . He lived in the village of Rovenky, Belgorod Region . He was the head of the road section of the Rivne district of the Belgorod region , built bridges. Then he worked as chief of staff of the civil defense. He participated in the parade on Red Square (Moscow) on May 9, 1985 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Victory [2] .
Died April 3, 1995.
Rewards
He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Orders of Glory of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree, medals, including "For Courage", "For the capture of Berlin" , "For the Victory over Germany" [3] .
Memory
In the village of Rovenki, competitions in air rifle shooting are held, dedicated to the memory of D.P. Kushnaryov.
