Biography

Henrik was born on September 6 in the city of Sundsvall, located 400 km north of Stockholm , the capital of Sweden. Having shown an interest in music at an early age, he began playing the flute at the age of 9, the piano at 10, the drums at 13, the guitar and bass at 14, and at 15 he began to write his own music. At the age of 17, Henrik creates his first band - “Give the Iron”. The name of the group (translated into Russian - “Give Iron”) is a literal translation of the Swedish expression “ge jarnet”, semantically meaning “go for it” (“go for it”). Initially, “Give the Iron” (or, in short, GTI) included 4 members - a vocalist, guitarist, bass player and drummer. The fifth member, guitarist Tommy Wren , joined the band a year after its founding. The group completely coped with the main tasks of any novice team - rehearsals, live concerts: performances in rock clubs, shopping centers, schools, motorcycle clubs developed the participants' skills in tooling, participating in shows, and writing songs.

Gradually, the framework of the GTI became Henrik small, and he decided to experiment with Tommy. They gathered the best local musicians to record their three most difficult songs with them. The resulting quality of the material satisfied them so much that it was decided to release a mini-CD. And since it was no longer GTI, the new group was called “Moahni Moahna” (pronounced “Mo-a-no Mo-a-na”), in honor of the song GTI. Soon there appeared the first video of the new group (for the song “The Quest For the Unholy Sword”), which aired, and the first album - “Temple of Life”. Despite the certain popularity of the project, however, shortly after the release of the album “Why,” MM broke up, and Tommy Wren returned to Sundsvall.

Henrik's next project was the ZooL group, which he founded with Martin Hagström , the third founding member of Moahni Moahna. The creative path of the group was swift and short - recording a debut album on an Italian label, high praise from the audience and ... the breakup of the group.

Henrik moves to the capital of Denmark - Copenhagen . There, he responds to Eric Ravne's suggestion and joins Wuthering Heights, with whom he records two albums - To Travel For Evermore in 2002 and Far From the Madding Crowd in 2003 .

Despite successfully participating in Wuthering Heights, Henrik was determined to move on with his own music. Frustrated by previous failed projects, he did not leave Copenhagen for almost a year, intending to distract himself from the music business. During this time, he was engaged in writing music, having no clear plans to create a new group or release a solo album. However, this could not last long - Henrik needed a way out of creative energy.

After meeting with Henrik Brockmann , Henrik Flyman decided to try Brockmann's vocals on some of the materials he wrote during his retirement in Copenhagen. Pleased with the result, Flyman contacts bassist Casper Gram and drummer Dennis Buul with a proposal to create a new group. After listening to the material presented, Gram and Beul agree to join this new group - Evil Masquerade. All that was lacking was a keyboard player, but this problem was solved with the help of invited members, who were four at once on the debut album of the group “Welcome to the Show”.

The newly created project passed the difficulties and difficulties that befell the previous projects of Flyman, and was accepted with open arms, including many old fans of Flyman. The combination of classical music and heavy metal in the group’s compositions gave rise to a new term in a number of publications, indicating the group’s style - “theatrical metal” (“theater metal”).

Before recording the fourth album of the group in the life of Flyman, a series of trials came: leaving two members from the group; illness and death in the immediate environment of Henrik; housing issues; financial difficulties - all this complicated the work. In this difficult time, the musician finds a replacement for the retired participants, and also “closes” the position of the keyboard player, still vacant, by a specially invited participant. The fourth album “Fade To Black” is released, a video is shot for the song “Desire and Pain”, and Henrik, as a composer, with the song “Bozo the Clown” wins the JPF Music Awards (USA) in the category “Best Metal Song” [2] .

The downturn in the record industry has led Henrik to decide to focus on live performances. Shortly after making this decision, he receives an invitation to join the upcoming Lacrimosa world tour, which was very helpful. After a couple of years of intensive touring, Flyman again begins to produce material for a new album, which was released a year later on the label Dark Minstrel Music, founded by the musician himself to ensure stability and creative freedom, Evil Masquerade. He also participates in the recording of Lacrimosa's next album, Revolution, and participates in the charity project Metal For Cancer, for which he composed the song Let's Unite In Rock.

Currently, she continues to perform under the banner of both Evil Masquerade and Lacrimosa, as well as the new band Black Moon Secret. The latest recordings of Henrik Flyman are EP Lacrimosa Testimonium, released August 25, 2017 and SP Evil Masquerade Märk Hur Vår Skugga, released November 30, 2016 .

This group included all Evil Masquerade members (excluding Dennis Bule), as well as Richard Ofososki, Mats Leven ( Therion , Yngwie Malmsteen ), Peter Wilder ( James LaBrie , Darkane, Time Requiem), Snowy Show ( Therion , Mercyful Fate , Dream Evil ), Tony Kakko ( Sonata Arctica ), Glen Drover ( Megadeth , King Diamond) and Tony Mills ( TNT , Shy ) [1] [5] [6] .
