Sorma (tributary of Greater Civil)

Sorma ( Chuvash. Surăm ) is a river in Chuvashia , the left tributary of Greater Civil . Flowing through the territory of the Morgaushsky and Alikovsky districts, in the lower reaches it is the border between the Vurnarsky and Krasnoarmeysky districts of Chuvashia.

Throughout it flows from the northwest to the southeast. The river valley is slightly winding. The density coefficient of the river network is 0.52 km / km² [5] . A pronounced spring flood , stable winter and low summer low water . Mixed food, mainly snow.

Title

The name comes from Russian . Sorma “a shallow place in a river with a hard bottom” (East-Russian), or from Russian. sarma “roll, river threshold” (east-Russian) [7] [8] .
