Biography
Born in the family of a Czech master organist . He received his first piano lessons from his father.
From 1822 to 1832 he worked as a music teacher in Merseburg , where he began to create his first musical compositions.
Since 1835 - music teacher in Magdeburg . In 1850, together with Christian Friedrich Erlich created the Institute für Gemeinschaftlichen Clavierunterricht .
The author of many musical works. However, his compositions had a reputation for light, popular music. His school of playing the piano was very popular with the German-speaking public. F.K. Khvatal was a successful and sought-after creator of entertaining, easy-to-play piano music. Even during his life, they are faced with accusations that his music was created to please the tastes of the public.
German composer and influential music critic Robert Schumann called them “Stübchenmusik” (salon music).
He has written several books on guiding musical instruments, theory and history of music.
