Construction and Features
The mosque began to be built in late 1993. The construction money was allocated by entrepreneur Midekhat Bikmeev, an ethnic Tatar. The name "Nurd-Kamal" is given in honor of the parents of Bikmeev: father of Nurudin and mother Gainikamal. [2]
The author of the project is the architect Evgeny Solnyshkin, who also designed the local building of the children's hospital, the administrative building of the copper plant, the Talnakh basin and the bell tower in memory of victims of political repression. [2]
The mosque differs from the typical forms of an individual project, taking into account climatic conditions. For example, instead of the traditional rounded shape of the minaret in Norilsk, it is quadrangular - square. This allows you to better retain heat and increase resistance to strong winds. The mosque has the shape of a star. The prayer hall is round, and the minaret has a height of 30 meters. The mosque has 2 floors, the lower room is used as a madrasah. The religious building stands, like many other buildings of Norilsk, on stilts. They are used because permafrost begins at a shallow depth from the surface, which extends to 300-500 meters. This project of Evgeny Solnyshkin received a third degree diploma at the International Biennale of the Union of Architects in Moscow. [2]
The mosque was inaugurated on September 19, 1998 by the Mufti Sheikh ul-Islam T.S. Tajuddin . [3]
