Aristarkh Teghe

Aristarchus of Tegea ( Greek Αρίσταρχος ο Τεγεάτης) is a major ancient Greek playwright .

Born in Tegea ( Arcadia , Peloponnese). Aristarchus lived in the middle of the 5th century BC. er and was thus a contemporary of Sophocles and Euripides . Worked in Athens. In total, he created 70 plays for the theater , and the names of three of his tragedies have come down to us: "Achilles", "Asclepius" and "Tantalum". From the first, thanks to the Roman playwright Ennius , one quotation also survived. Aristarchus may have lived to be 100 years old. Twice he won the competitions of playwrights, and wrote one of his plays, as reported, for God in gratitude for the healing of the disease.
