Benjamin Glazer ( born Benjamin Glazer ; May 7, 1887 , Belfast , Northern Ireland - March 18, 1956 , Hollywood, California) is an American screenwriter, producer, noise producer and director of Irish descent. He received two Oscars , including for the best adapted script for the film "The Seventh Heaven" in 1929 at the 1st Academy Awards.

Biography
Born in Belfast to a Jewish family from Hungary [1] [2] , he later emigrated to the United States and studied at the University of Pennsylvania, which he graduated in 1906. He was one of the founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences . He was a producer of musicals featuring Bing Crosby at Paramount Studios. He also wrote scripts for the theater, including an adaptation of Ferenc Molnard ’s play “Liliom” (“Liliom”, 1909), which formed the basis of the Broadway musical “Carousel” (1945).
