History
The sport originated in the USA in the 1970s. At the global level, jetski is supervised by the International Water-Motor Union (UIM) and the International Water-Motor Sports Association (IJSBA). Every year they hold a professional motocross tour on water, the Pro Watercross Tour, the European Championships, Australia, Brazil, France, Great Britain, Guam, Thailand, the Royal Cup international tournament and world championships in aqua bike in three classes.
In Russia, city championships and various Cups began to be held in the late 90s, and in 2000 the first national championship was held. The jetski was gaining fans, and two years later the first Russian Cup was held. Nowadays, there are aqua bike clubs in many large water cities, and the Russian team worthily performs in international competitions. Since the aquabike disciplines are related to water-motor sports , the main functions of popularizing the aquabike disciplines, conducting competitions and standardization in Russia are entrusted to the Russian Federation of water-motor sports .
Since 1996, UIM has been conducting world championships in aquabike in three classes. Classes include the type of jet ski (“standing” or “sitting”), engine size, the presence of boost and so on. Aquabike competitions include three main disciplines: race (speed trail with a common start), slalom (speed race over a difficult distance, which participants go through several times alternately) and freestyle (figure skating on a water bike). In the mid-nineties, in St. Petersburg, at the initiative of the St. Petersburg Sports and Technical Assembly, and then the Open St. Petersburg Club, the stages of the European Championship (UIM) in aquabike were held (in 2000 these races received the status of the World Championship).
No Risk
The driving force of a watercraft is not a screw, but a water cannon , which significantly reduces the number of accidents when falling from a car. In addition, a sportsman’s wrist with an ignition connector is connected by a special harness, so that when you fall, the jetski stops immediately. However, the jet ski does not have a brake; the instruction prohibits stopping it by reverse.
Laws of the Russian Federation instruct the hydrocyclist to undergo a three-month training and pass an exam in a special category. rules [ what? ] categorically prohibit the use of jet skis in the immediate vicinity of beaches and port areas.
