History
On August 17, 1924, the stadium was opened by a match in which Hurricane confidently defeated the Colon Santa Fe team 4-0. Initially, the structure of the stadium was wooden and accommodated 12,000 people.
A new stadium in place of the old one began to be built in 1942, and the work was finally completed six years later. The first match in the new arena was held on September 7, 1947, in which Hurricane defeated Boca Juniors 4–3 in the Argentinean championship . This match was watched by about 80 thousand spectators in the stands. Officially, the new stadium was opened on November 10, 1949, with a game in which Uracan defeated the Uruguayan Peñarol - 4: 1.
On November 23, 1967, the stadium got its current name in honor of Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Adolfo Duco, who served as president of Huracan with interruptions from 1938 to 1954 and died in 1964.
In 1977, the stadium was renovated.
Thomas Adolfo Duco hosted the first final match of the South American Cup of 2015 , when “Hurricane” for the first time in its history reached the final of a major international tournament.
