Content
Geographical position
The village is located on the left bank of the Pshish River , in the mountain forest zone, 4 km north of the larger village of Tverskaya , where the railway station is located, 23 km southwest of the city of Belorechensk .
History
Founded in 1864 [4] , named after the walking Gurian police who took part in the Caucasian War [5] .
According to the “List of Populated Places of the North Caucasus Region” for 1925, the village of Guria was the administrative center of the Guri village council of the Belorechensky district of the Maykop district of the North Caucasus region . At that time, its population was 2814 people (1183 men and 1631 women), the total number of yards - 499. On the territory of the settlement there were 150 wells and 1 pond [6] .
According to the 1926 Settlement Census, there were 768 households in the village in the village of the North Caucasus, 2,855 people lived (1,349 men and 1,506 women), including 2,041 Ukrainians and 683 Russians. The Cossack population was 1459 people [7] .
