Biography
Born February 27, 1929 in the village of Shali of the Chechen-Ingush ASSR in a peasant family. February 23, 1944 was deported .
In 1952 he graduated from the evening school in the city of Tokmak, Frunze Oblast, Kyrgyz SSR . During the daytime, he worked as a loader, cutter, first in the Chui, and then in the Tokmak peat developments . For Stakhanov's work he was repeatedly awarded letters of commendation, including a diploma of the Komsomol Central Committee of the Kirghiz SSR in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Komsomol (1954), prizes, etc.
In 1957 he graduated from the correspondence department of the faculty of the Russian language and literature of the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute . He combined his studies with the work of a teacher of Russian language and literature in a seven-year Shamsinsky school in the Chuy district of the Frunze region.
In 1958 he returned to his homeland. Until 1971, he worked in the sector of the Chechen and Ingush languages of the restored Institute of Human Sciences, first as a junior and then as a senior researcher . In the same institute, in 1963, he defended his thesis on the “Formation of nouns in the Chechen language” (using materials from the Ingush and Batsbi languages ) under the supervision of the supervisor Yunus Desheriev .
In 1958–1970, Kati Chokayev was the executive secretary of the terminology commission under the Council of Ministers of the Chechen-Ingush ASSR. Then he was chairman of the spelling commission at the government of the republic. In 1975 he defended his doctoral thesis.
From September 1, 1983, for 15 years he was a professor and the head of the Russian language and teaching methods department at the Chechen-Ingush Pedagogical Institute .
Since 1993, member of the editorial board of the journal "Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic." In 1996, he was honorary co-chairman of the organizing committee for the International Congress of Vainakh diasporas, held in Odessa . In 1998 he led a group of scientists in developing the concept of higher and secondary specialized education in the Chechen Republic .
He took part in the creation of the Academy of Sciences of the Chechen Republic. He is one of its first full members and the first academician-secretary of the department of philology . Professor of the Russian language department of the Chechen State Pedagogical Institute. Honored Scientist of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, laureate of the Chechen-Ingush State Prize, Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation .
He is the author of 150 scientific papers, including 11 monographs, as well as a number of popular science articles on problems of linguistics . His research interests include word formation , language contacts, problems of Russian-Chechen bilingualism , onomastics , methods of teaching Russian language.
