Biography
For some time he was an assistant professor at the University of Jena, then, in 1664–1669, a pastor. In 1669 he occupied the Department of Mathematics and Physics at Altdorf University , where he then remained until the end of his life.
He published a German translation of all the works of Archimedes , with the exception of only Lemm, with detailed comments, and wrote textbooks of mathematics. He spent a lot of work on the liberation of German mathematical terminology from the foreign expressions included in it. Engaged in the observation of comets .
