Stoyan Ivanov Nikolov ( Bulgarian. Stoyan Ivanov Nikolov , b. April 2, 1949) - Bulgarian Greco-Roman style wrestler, world and European champion, Olympic medalist. Due to the mistakes of technical workers who confused the Bulgarian surname and patronymic, in some official documents it is referred to as Stoyan Ivanov [1] .

Biography
Born in 1949 in Zlatitsa . Since 1963, he began to engage in Greco-Roman wrestling under the guidance of coach Ivan Minkin. In 1968 he was included in the national team. In 1971 he became the silver medalist of the World Cup. In 1972, he took part in the Olympic Games in Munich , but did not win medals, but became the European champion. In 1973 he became the silver medalist of the European Championship and the bronze medalist of the World Championship. In 1974 he won the silver medal of the World Cup, in 1975 he repeated this result. In 1976 he became the silver medalist of the European Championship and the Olympic Games in Montreal . In 1977 he became the bronze medalist of the World Cup. In 1978 he won the world championship. In 1980, he took part in the Olympic Games in Moscow , but did not win medals, but became the bronze medalist of the European Championship.
