Angela Paduraru ( rum. Angela Păduraru ; June 6, 1938 , p. Nemtseni (now Hincesti district of Moldova ) - July 26, 1995 , Chisinau ) - Moldavian and Soviet singer, performer of folk songs, Honored Artist of the Moldavian SSR ( 1976). One of the most popular singers of Moldova from 1960-1970.

Biography

I did not receive a special musical education.

Since 1961 she sang in the choral chapel "Doina"; in 1962-1963 - soloist of the Chisinau Philharmonic ensemble; in 1971-1984 - soloist of the folklore orchestra "Folklore" of Chisinau radio and television.

In 1984-1985 - singer of the chamber chapel of the State Radio and Television of Moldova.

She promoted Moldovan folklore and performed a particularly complex ballad genre.

The State Radio and Television Foundation stores about 200 songs in its performance.

  • One of the streets of Chisinau is named after Angela Paduraru.
  • In her native village, a bust of the singer is installed and the annual festival “Angela Paduraru” is held.
  • In 2013, in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the singer, Moldova Post issued a stamp with her image.
