Club career
Jesse is a graduate of the Manchester United Club Academy . He played for Manchester United from the age of 7. In the 2010/11 season, as part of the team, he won the Youth Cup of England , and in the summer of 2011 signed a professional contract with the club.
2012/13
On November 6, 2012, Lingard and his teammate Michael Keane moved to the Leicester City club on loan. [2] Lingard made his debut for Leicester on the same day, November 6, replacing the match against Bolton Wanderers [3] .
2013/14
In the summer of 2013, Lingard was included in the team’s application for the pre-season Manchester United tour [4] . On July 20, Jesse scored two goals in a match against Australia's All-Star team [5] . On July 23, he again scored a goal in a game against Yokohama F. Marinos [6] , and on July 29, against the Kitschi gate [7] . Lingard became the team's top scorer on the Asian tour, scoring 4 goals. [8]
On September 19, 2013, Lingard went on loan to the Birmingham City Championship Club [9] . September 21, he made his debut in the Birmingham, having entered the starting lineup for the match against Sheffield Wensday . In this game, he opened an account in the 20th minute, and then scored three more goals (in the 29th, 33rd and 51st minutes), having issued “poker”. The match ended with a victory for Birmingham City with a score of 4: 1 [10] . In January 2014, Lingard returned to Manchester United, having played 13 matches for Birmingham City and scoring 6 goals.
On February 27, 2014, Lingard moved to the Brighton & Hove Albion Championship club on loan. [11] On April 8, he scored his first goal for the club in a match against Leicester City [12] . Totally spent 17 matches for Brighton and scored 4 goals.
2014/15
Jesse held his first official match for Manchester United on August 16, 2014, leaving the starting lineup in the first round of the Premier League against Swansea City , but was already forced to leave the field due to an injury in the 24th minute [13] .
After recovering from an injury, on February 2, 2015, Lingard went on loan to the Derby County Club [14] . Spent 15 matches for “rams” and scored 2 goals, after which he returned to Manchester.
2015/16
Under Louis van Gaulle, the young midfielder gradually began to be involved in the matches of the main team. On November 7, 2015, Lingard scored his first goal for Manchester United as part of the championship in the match of the 12th round of the Premier League against West Bromwich Albion club [15] .
On January 12, 2016, Jesse evened the score in a match with Newcastle United at St. James's Park , after transferring from Wayne Rooney, breaking the goalkeeper between his legs [16] . On May 21, 2016, Lingard scored the winning goal against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final [17] .
2016/17
On August 7, 2016, Lingard scored a goal after a solo center pass in the English Super Cup match against Leicester City . The game ended in victory for United with a score of 2: 1 [18] . On February 26, 2017, Jesse scored an important goal in the match with Southampton in the final of the Football League Cup , in which Manchester United won 3–2 [19] . On April 6, 2017, Lingard signed a new contract with Manchester United until 2021 with the possibility of automatic renewal for another season [20] .
2017/18
In the 2017/18 season, Lingard played 48 matches in all tournaments, scoring 13 goals [21] .
2018/19
December 5 scored his first goal of the season in a match with Arsenal. After two rounds, he scored the second goal in a match with Liverpool, where the team was defeated.
Team Career
In 2008, Lingard made his debut for England until the age of 17 . In August 2013, he received his first call to England before the age of 21 . He made his debut in the national team on August 13, 2013 in a friendly match against the Scottish national team under 21, replacing Nathan Redmond . England won that game with a score of 6: 0 [22] . On June 21, 2015, Lingard scored a goal in the match against Sweden at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship [23] .
After Michael Carrick and Jamie Vardi were forced to leave the team due to injuries, Jesse Lingard and Ryan Mason got their first call to the main team of England for a friendly match against the French team on November 16, 2015 [24] , but in the end, Lingard on the field never appeared. Jesse was called up for the World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia in October 2016. [25] On October 8, 2016, he made his debut as part of the England main team in a game against Malta [26] .
He scored his first goal for the national team on March 23, 2018 in a friendly match against the Netherlands national team [27] .
In May 2018, Gareth Southgate included Lingard in the national team's application for the 2018 World Cup in Russia [28] . On June 24, Jesse scored his first world championship goal in the group stage match against the Panama national team [29] .
