Denis Viktorovich Zhigadlo ( May 12, 1987 , Mozyr ) - Belarusian kayaker , has been playing for the national team of Belarus since 2006. Silver medalist of European and world championships, champion of the Summer Universiade in Kazan, multiple winner of republican and youth regattas. Biography
Denis Zhigadlo was born on May 12, 1987 in the city of Mozyr , Gomel region . He began to actively engage in kayaking in early childhood, was trained at the Mozyr specialized school for children and youth of the Olympic reserve and at the Gomel regional school of higher sports skills, at different times he trained with such specialists as G. N. Galitsky, V. A. Vasko, V.V. Shantarovich. He was a member of the sports club of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus. According to juniors, since 2006, he began to become one of the winners of various international regattas, for example, he won two gold medals at once at the European Youth Championship in Athens: four in five hundred and a thousand meters. At the same time, the first victories at the World Cup stages came.
At the adult international level, he first made himself known in the 2007 season, when he became a member of the Belarusian national team and thanks to a series of successful performances he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the European Championships in the Spanish city of Pontevedra. Together with the crew, which also included rowers Stanislav Strelchenko , Sergey Findukevich and Ruslan Bichan , took second place at a distance of 500 meters, losing only to the Slovak national team, and thereby won a silver medal. Later, in the same discipline, he played at the world championship in Duisburg, Germany, where he again lost to the Slovak crew and came to the finish line second, receiving a silver award.
Subsequently, Zhigadlo consistently consisted in the national team of Belarus, continued to participate in major international regattas. As a student, in 2013 he took part in the standings of the Summer Universiade in Kazan, at a distance of 500 meters he won a gold medal in doubles and silver in fours [1] .
He has higher education, graduated from the Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P. Shamyakin , where he studied at the Faculty of Physical Culture. For outstanding sports achievements he was awarded the title of master of sports of international class.
