Getting

  • A solution of neptunium perchlorate (V) in perchloric acid is poured onto molten lithium perchlorate . Then, ozone is passed through the melt. The reaction by-products are washed with water.
  • Decomposition of neptunium (VI) oxide hydrate when heated:
2NpO3⋅H2O→300oCNp2O5+2H2O+O2{\ displaystyle {\ mathsf {2NpO_ {3} \ cdot H_ {2} O \ {\ xrightarrow {300 ^ {o} C}} \ Np_ {2} O_ {5} + 2H_ {2} O + O_ {2 }}}}
