Randall Stone is an American political scientist and professor at the University of Rochester , known for his studies in the field of international political economy, international relations, as well as Russian and European politics.

Scientific activity
Stone has conducted extensive research on the global economy, the International Monetary Fund , the World Bank and institutional design. In 2012, the Association for International Studies awarded him the Chadwick F. Alger Prize for his book “Managing Institutions: International Organizations and the World Economy”. Stone, being the director of the Rock Center for Polish and Central European Studies at the University of Rochester, speaks Russian, German and Polish, and often travels around the region [1] . Stone is also the author of Credit Confidence: The International Monetary Fund and the Post-Communist Transition ( Princeton , 2002) and Minions and Commissioners: Strategy and Conflict in the Politics of the Soviet Trade Bloc (Princeton, 1996).
In 1988, Stone received a Bachelor of Arts in Management and in 1993 a Ph.D. in Political Science from Harvard University . He was awarded grants by NSF, SSRC, NCEEER and IREX, and was a senior Fulbright scholar in Berlin [2] . His articles were published in the Review of American Political Science, International Organization, International Quarterly Studies, Journal of Conflictology, Review of International Relations, and Global Environmental Policy [3] . Stone was also quoted by the New York Times , CNBC, PBS News, and Foreign Policy magazine on the current situation in Ukraine and Crimea [4] .
