Euryxyela lata (lat.) - a fossil species of sawflies of the genus Euryxyela from the family Xyelidae . One of the oldest representatives of the hymenoptera . Found in Triassic fossils ( Central Asia , Kyrgyzstan , Madygen, Dzhailoucho, Carnian tier , about 230 Ma). Fore wing length 6.2 mm. The species Euryxyela lata was first described by fingerprints in 1964 by Soviet and Russian entomologist Alexander Pavlovich Rasnitsyn ( PIN RAS , Moscow , Russia ) together with Asioxyela antiqua (later transferred to the genus Leioxyela ), Asioxyela smilodon , Euryxyela euryptera , Triassoxyela foveolnisata , T. grand , T. kirgizica , T. striata ( Xiphoxyela ), Xyelinus angustiradius . It is included in the genus Euryxyela Rasnitsyn 1964 and the subfamily Archexyelinae together with the species Euryxyela euryptera .
