Nikolaev, Eduard Konstantinovich

Born in the family of a student of the Ural Industrial Institute, the future party and state leader, member of the CPSU Central Committee, first secretary of the Sverdlovsk Regional Committee of the CPSU K.K. Nikolaev

In 1959 he graduated from the Sverdlovsk State Medical Institute . Since 1959 - surgeon, since 1963 - anesthetist at the Sverdlovsk City Clinical Hospital for Emergency Medicine. Since 1964 - at the Sverdlovsk State Medical Institute (Ural State Medical Academy) : Associate Professor of the Department of Hospital Surgery, since 1966 - Dean of the Faculty of Advanced Medical Studies, since 1972 - Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, since 1974 - Head of the Department of Anesthesiology and resuscitation, since 2005 - professor of this department.

Founder of the service of anesthesiology and intensive care of the Sverdlovsk region. The initiator and organizer of the first in the Urals and one of the first in the USSR department of anesthesiology and intensive care in the Sverdlovsk City Clinical Emergency Hospital (1963). Organizer of one of the first universities in the USSR Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (1974). One of the initiators of the creation of the Territorial Center for Disaster Medicine of the Sverdlovsk Region (1993). Under his scientific supervision, the production of mechanical ventilation apparatus and a defibrillator synchronized for the treatment of atrial fibrillation was mastered in Yekaterinburg. Member of the European Academy of Anesthesiology.

Member of the Board of the All-Union and All-Russian Scientific Societies of Anesthesiologists and Resuscitators, Honorary Member of the Federation of Anesthesiologists-Resuscitators of Russia. Chairman of the Sverdlovsk Regional Scientific-Medical Society of Anesthesiologists and Resuscitators (1969-2007). Member of the problem commission of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences "Scientific foundations of resuscitation." Member of the editorial boards of the journals "Anesthesiology and Intensive Care", "Bulletin of Intensive Care", "Problems of Intensive Care".

The founder of the Ural school of resuscitation anesthetists. He prepared 31 candidates and 7 doctors of medical sciences.

The author of 250 scientific papers, including 4 monographs. Has 13 certificates and patents for inventions.

He died on November 26, 2010 in Yekaterinburg . He was buried at the Shirokorechensky cemetery .
