When the Sylvia Park was created at the end of the 18th century , N. A. Lvov developed a project called the “Cascade with a Gateway”. In the fall of 1797, excavation work on the dam at the Bird's House was completed , after which construction work was carried out for another year and a half. The dam was lined with slabs of Parisian limestone. The cascade with the gateway made up a single ensemble together with the nearby Naumakhiya [2] . Near the Cascade was a pedestrian Bridge Ruin , which is sometimes, erroneously, referred to as "laid along the Cascade."
During the 19th century, Cascade repeatedly carried out work on maintaining the Cascade with a gateway in working condition [2] .
Subsequently, no work was carried out here. The dam was washed away by water, the plates collapsed. To date, the ruins of Cascade are overgrown with grass; a “temporary” pedestrian bridge was laid through his remains.
