Criticism
“Musically, Dully is omnivorous; he swallows everything from Henry Moonchini's Moon River to Miss World Hole , Regret New Order to Prince's When Doves Cry . The cover album was inevitable ”- critic of the site Pitchfork Stephen M. Dewsner began his review [1] . “Fans have long wanted and waited for a whole album of covers, and Dully promptly pleased them with the eclectic She Loves You in time, ” said Harry Guerin, correspondent for the Irish television channel Raidió Teilifís Éireann [2] .
“This capital is older than the music industry: great covers are extremely rare. Performers who manage to make brilliant covers as part of their repertoire are even more rare. Perhaps the most famous composer in this regard is Johnny Cash . Dully is not in his league yet, but if he continues to make music of this caliber, he will one day get there, ”commented Nick Cowen, editor of the electronic journal Drowned in Sound, [3] .
“For better or worse, Dulley gives these odd, fragmented songs the forms that suit his style, sometimes suppressing them, but in a way that is not slavishly respectful or boring. He undoubtedly respects the songs so much that he wants to contribute to their development, and not just listen to them from the outside, ”said Josh Modell, columnist for The AV Club, [4] . “The entire album carries the sensual warmth of Dully’s work of authorship,” supported Billboard magazine reviewer hiding behind the CM letters [5] .
